A piece of Singapore Orchid Series $1 Signed by Mr. Lim Kim San is up for sales. This piece is much circulated, Extra Fine+ condition in my opinion. There are some stains at the reverse.
On 4 April 2015, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) launched the Singapore 50 years of Independence Commemorative Coins to mark Singapore’s 50th year of independence (SG50).
The series comprise a $2 cupro-nickel coin, a $5 silver coin and a $50 gold coin, on sales are the $2 cupro-nickel coin and, a $5 silver coin.
Coin Designs:
The coins are themed ‘Education, Building Our Nation Together’, reflecting the fundamental role that Education has played in the transformation of a young nation.
The cupro-nickel coin features basic education at the primary and secondary levels, which equips our children with the foundational skills and the character and values that prepare them for the future.
The silver coin showcases higher education that provides students with multiple pathways to achieving their aspirations.
Singapore’s multi-racial diversity is depicted in all two designs. The obverse of the coins bears the Singapore Coat of Arms with the year 2015.

On 11 July 2012, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) launched the Singapore 47 years of Independence Commemorative Coins.
Coin Design:
The coin design draws inspiration from the 2012 National Day Parade (NDP) theme, ‘Loving Singapore, Our Home’. It depicts children from the four main ethnic backgrounds rejoicing at The Float @ Marina Bay, the venue of NDP celebrations this year. The number ‘47’ is stylised as a folded ribbon at the left side of the coin.
This Silver Proof coin comes in a unique heart shape, the first of its kind in Singapore. The obverse of the coin bears the Singapore Arms with the year-date 2012.

“The Singapore Spirit” tagline for the 2011 NDP theme runs across the mosaic formation. The diversity of people celebrating is depicted through human silhouettes at the centre of the coin. The newly opened Helix Bridge and the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre are also incorporated in the design to portray the NDP venue surroundings.

On 5 July 2005, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) launched a set of S$2 Silver Proof coins to commemorate Singapore's 40 years of independence. The commemorative coins celebrate our nation-building, the indomitable spirit of our citizens to strive for success despite tough challenges, and our unity as a multi-racial society.
Coin Design:
The coin design features the official National Day Parade (NDP) 2005 logo representing a nation's aspirations and confidence as Singaporeans shape their future together. This is the first time that the NDP logo is featured on a Singapore commemorative coin.
The four major races, Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian, are represented by four stylized dancers in their traditional costumes, performing together in graceful harmony. In the background is City Hall, the venue for the 2005 National Day Parade. A burst of fireworks above the landmark completes the celebratory mood. The phrase "40 Years of Independence" aptly records this important milestone. The obverse of the coin bears the Singapore Arms with the year-date 2005.
